We are seeking to recruit a Junior Architect on a fulltime indefinite basis to augment our team of professionals in view of ongoing and newly awarded projects.

Duties:

Prepare detailed working drawings (plans, elevations, sections, joinery details).

Assist in layouts and space planning.

Develop finishing details (e.g., ceilings, flooring, wall treatments, staircases, bathrooms, kitchens).

Prepare as-built drawings based on site surveys.

Update drawings based on client and senior architect feedback.

Perform other role-related duties as assigned by your Superior from time to time.

 

Coordinate with:

Structural engineers.

MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) consultants.

Contractors and subcontractors.

Integrate services layouts into architectural drawings.

Check for clashes between finishes and services.

 

Assist in preparing:

Material specifications

Finishes schedules (tiles, paint, gypsum, apertures, etc.)

Research and select finishes, fixtures, and fittings (FF&E)

Support senior staff in ensuring compliance with client requirements and budget

Prepare drawings for permits or approvals, or planning applications, especially for:

Alterations

Change of use

Interior modifications.

Ensure drawings comply with:

Local building and planning regulations.

Heritage or conservation requirements (if applicable).

Attend site inspections and coordination meetings.

 

Assist in monitoring:

Quality of finishing works.

Progress against drawings.

Report site issues or discrepancies.

Help review shop drawings and contractor submissions.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in architecture or any other related field or equivalent.

A minimum of two working years of experience.

Possession of a warrant is considered an asset.

Experience in the commercial sector is considered an asset.

Background experience in historic sites is considered an asset.

Be proficient in MS Office Software including MS Project as well as ACAD.

Knowledge of processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the efficiency of the work.

Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.

A good eye for detail and an ability to initiate things independently.

Positive attitude towards work.

Good communication skills and fluent in Maltese and/or English.

A valid driving license (preferably).
